It’s my pleasure to share with our Bateman Banter readership that on Wednesday, Sept. 7 we publicly announced that James Niccolai, the highly regarded 20-year veteran journalist from IDG News Service, will be joining Bateman Group as a Director of Content and Media Strategy based in our San Francisco office, effective Monday, October 3. With expertise spanning server hardware, semiconductors, cloud services, AI and Big Data, James will focus primarily on enterprise, developer and infrastructure technology clients, which we now break into two distinct practice areas: The Future of Work and The New Stack.
By joining our Bateman family, James reunites with his former colleague from IDG News Service, Elinor Mills, our vice president of Content and Media Strategy. Since formalizing our offering in 2012, Elinor’s journalism credentials, network, reputation, content skills and hard work have turned the Content Studio into a major revenue driver for the agency, particularly within our Marketing Tech and Trust practices. Now we’re seeing an increase in content needs from companies across a wider range of enterprise markets, from the simple to the very complex. By bringing together Elinor’s expertise in IT and data security with James’s knowledge of the enterprise and cloud infrastructure markets, we greatly expand the depth and breadth of the Content Studio capabilities across a much wider range of technology markets and sub-markets.
When asked by the trade media why he decided to move over to the proverbial dark side, James responded, “I was ready for a change and excited to see what happens on the other side of the curtain. Moreover, it’s a terrific group of people with a unique approach to storytelling and some really interesting clients.” He added, “Bateman Group already has a solid enterprise practice. My goal is to expand it and make it even better.” I couldn’t have said it better myself….
James brings a passion for cloud and data center infrastructure technologies that’s a perfect complement to Elinor’s well-known obsession with all things security. Better still, they also happen to be great friends I’m confident will combine forces to bring even greater leadership to the Content Studio. Welcome aboard, James!
